My Gift

Shirley A Mandel
Dear Lord,
I'm not one
to be rich in this world's
goods.
I cannot give gobs of money to charity
or even do the volunteer work I used to do
because of the price of gas.
Everything costs so much today.

So I am giving my poetry as a gift to you.
It is my best talent.

Do you accept gifts from the hands
of poor sinners?
You did accept the gift
from a woman of ill repute once.

She anointed you for burial.

Please accept my humble gift too.
I anoint for your return.

Yes Shirley He will accept your gift of writing because you know where that gift has come from. You bless others with it and the Lord is honored by the use of this gift.

Great gift. Remember the Lord does not look at the fortunes that people give, He looks at the heart of the giver. Giving thousands or millions means nothing to Him if the giver is not giving from a sincere heart. The world and everything therein is His already.

All of us have gifts to give and your gift is just as worthy as any other. I am returning to classes in January to become a non-profit grant writer and give away my time & talents to help non-profits in my community to obtain funds that go unclaimed each year just because not-for-profits (like my church) cannot afford a grant writer. Be well, have a safe, healthy and happy New Year...I'll be back from time to time to read you ;) Cheers and blessings.
