Baby Aya loves her brother and you can see it in her eyes. When he splashed us, she found her voice, she found a way to show her love for him. I nearly fell over! Noah thought it was great so of course he kept splashing, just to hear her laugh. And it wasn't some kind of "baby" giggle, it was a full blown laugh, from the belly! Of course I called my mom to tell her, my mom Oona, didn't believe me. What baby laughs at only 3 months old? Mine did! I thought I would be ready to hear it, I'm a seasoned Mom ( right!),I can take anything.... but not a laugh. That laugh told me, my little girl was growing up. She found something that was funny to her, I didn't think getting splashed with bath bubbles was funny.
I wasn't ready at all. The moment she laughed I knew it was all over. My baby girl was growing up, she could understand things, she could show emotions, she could communicate. Now look what happened, she's rolling over, and sitting up. She's pushing herself up with her arms. She can roll across a room and hold toys.
Listen for that first laugh, savor it, love it. And when you have time, cry over it. Enjoy your babies while they are tiny, before you know, they are grown.
