My Heart Felt Views on Homosexuality

It is my practice to be tolerant of all beliefs as I would like others to tolerate my beliefs. (The Golden Rule).

However, I do judge people by their behavior as I too expect to be judged by my behavior. I don't judge homosexual behavior harshly. However, I think it is disingenuous to celebrate, embrace and normalize homosexual behavior.

Today's popular culture celebrates, embraces and normalizes many behaviors that I feel are destructive to the fabric of our society. These behaviors include single parents, teenage sex, divorce, adultery and abortion. I consider homosexuality on par with these negative behaviors.

For whatever reason, some people have abnormal sexual desires. These abnormal desires include: attraction to the same sex (homosexuality), attraction to both sexes (bisexuality),attraction to children (pedophilia), attraction to animals (bestiality), attraction to dead people (necrophilia), attraction to inappropriate clothing (cross-dressing), attraction to giving or receiving pain (BDSM), etc.

Most people are unable to change their desires weather their desires are normal and healthy or not. However, God gave us all the ability to control our behavior regardless of our desires. This is called "free will".

I do not begrudge garden variety homosexuals from following their desires. I would probably do the same, if I had homosexual desires. I just do not think that abnormal and unhealthy behaviors should be normalized, encouraged and celebrated as on-par with normal, healthy behavior that is conducive to providing the best possible environment to raise our children and and base our culture upon.

Homosexuals are free to follow their desires in our society. That is a good thing. The unlucky ones are the ones with different forms of sexual abnormalities that I listed above. The unlucky ones who suffer from pedophilia and violent sexual desires, dare not follow their desires lest they harm others, risk imprisonment and eternally damage their own souls. Homosexual behavior is not in that class, but I do not believe that homosexual behavior should be celebrated, embraced and encouraged.

The homosexual must ask himself or herself, "is the temporary gratification of the flesh worth all the penalty and losses I must suffer because of sin?"
