MY HOME TOWN

Kathryn Neff Perry
I was reading an article that really caught my eye the other day. It was a comparison of living expenses through the United States.

So I tried to gather as much of the information as I could and this is how I plan to live for the next few months, just to see how much money I can save.

I'm going to rent an apartment in Jonesboro, AK.
I'll be buying aspirin in Youngstown. For entertainment, I'll be bowling in New York City and I'll buy my son's underwear in Jonesboro. I'll buy cheeseburgers in Indianapolis, IN.

I'll buy Pepsi in San Diego, CA, and coffee in Youngstown, the same time I buy aspirin.

When I have my teeth cleaned it will be right after I eat cheeseburgers in Indianapolis. I'll be dropping my husband's suit to be cleaned in Chattanooga, TN.

I'll be driving to Casper WY to buy gasoline and of course I'll be pumping it myself. If I cook again and need ground beef, I'll buy it the same time I pick up the coffee and aspirin in Youngstown.

When I get my hair done I have two choices, I can go to Youngstown when I buy coffee, aspirin and ground beef, or Jonesboro where my apartment and son's underwear are.

If I have to stay in the hospital it's back to Jonesboro.

If I need Kleenex or milk, Youngstown's the winner.

I'm building a new house in Rapid City, SD, where I will also have my washer repaired.

And if I'm not too tired after saving all that money, I'll go to a movie in Mt. Gilead, Ohio.
