I went on to date someone else who at that time was going to be the love of my life but after a year that ended. I went on to date other guys and they ended. I then decided that was it for awhile so i did some traveling, had some fun and joined a volley ball team . One night I called my friend to invite her to play volleyball in our backyard and he was visiting. So I said bring him along and that was history.
It was three years after the first meeting and It was great ,we had both matured ,he was over his wife and we started dating at that point. We married a year later and this year it will be twenty three years. I could not imagine another man or another time in my life.
We have been through everything together. I went back to school when our two children were small with his support and help. He would watch the kids so I could study, rest ,or do whatever I needed to do. We built a new home together which we thought would be our forever home , but we decided to try a business venture and ended up moving into a much smaller home and every day we complain. But we know that we have each other and our children and someday we may want this smaller house.
We both have had health problems and have been there for each other. We support each other , we listen to what the other one has to say whether we like it or not. I remember him telling me he loved being outside when I would come home from work or anywhere because I would flash him a big smile and he knew that this is where I wanted to be.
We still have a good sexual life, which I do not feel is everything in a marriage (But is the fun part). At holidays or occasions I try to find the most meaningful card for him that I can find. He always says that means the most to him. If he goes to the cabin with the other men he calls me and tells me I was thinking about you, that makes me feel so good. We are still financially struggling from our business but we are getting through it together. We are each others best friend.
No matter what happens in the future I know that we love each other and we will get through it together. Just support each other and make decisions together , be open with each other and things will be forever. Go ahead I dare you , create your own love story.
