My Insights About the 2011 Academy Awards!

Ohh (yawn) Ssscar... Awards..

Michael Angelo Soltis
Not only is James Franco boring and dull hosting the award's night, and not even Anne Hathaway's energy level could lift him up but I find the whole Academy Awards predictable and monotonous as usual. Thanks to Anne Hathaway's multiple wardrobe changeover that is-that got me pinned on my sofa and kept me from turning off my t.v. just to see what she will be wearing next. By the way, all the seven dresses she wore that night was totally amazing, the tux she wore is not included simply because its not a dress. (Anne's second ensemble, was for me... the most stunning gown she wore that night. Dressed by the stylist to the stars Rachel Zoe of course.)

I find the whole program boring and monotonous merely because of James Franco, okay, not really, but also because there wasn't any surprise winners, given the fact that all the nominees in each of the category is plausible to win the award. It is like watching the same award giving body that you have watched from the beginning of the year, over and over again, only with different names of the awards. I also find it very unfair for Christopher Nolan not to be even nominated for best director at the academy, considering his fellow colleagues kept thanking him for their well deserved Oscar awards.

And to add more dullness to the award's night, was the stage itself, it was old fashioned and nothing new, they should think of a new and fresher approach to the design of the theater, come on, we are not in the 80's.

Enough with the negatives, although the winners at the academy were predictable and unsurprising, almost all of them were my favorites, especially Natalie and Colin, very well deserved winners. Though I was routing for "Inception" to win best picture.

All in all, the 83'rd Academy Awards night went well and was a success, but is it remarkable? Forgettable I guess.
