My Jewels My Special Possession, My Peculiar Treasure!
Bringing the Light to a Dark World!
Reflection: Have you ever held a precious gem stone up to the light? If you hold it up to the light the light can then shine through it? It is only when the light shines through it that it is illuminated. When we are born-again and filled with the presence of God his light will shine through us to others. In 2 Corinthians we see the words precious treasure referring to the divine light of the gospel. Did you know that God considers you a vessel that carries His precious treasure (the divine light of the gospel) to show forth his power to a lost and dying world? You are a carrier of precious cargo and God wants you to share the divine light of the gospel with others.
2 Corinthians 4:6-7 For God Who said, Let light shine out of darkness, has shone in our hearts so as [to beam forth] the Light for the illumination of the knowledge of the majesty and glory of God [as it is manifest in the Person and is revealed] in the face of Jesus Christ (the Messiah). 7However, we possess this precious treasure [the divine Light of the Gospel] in [frail, human] vessels of earth,that the grandeur and exceeding greatness of the power may be shown to be from God and not from ourselves.
Malachi 3:15-17 And now we consider the proud and arrogant to be happy and favored; evildoers are exalted and prosper; yes, and when they test God, they escape [unpunished]. 16Then those who feared the Lord talked often one to another; and the Lord listened and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before Him of those who reverenced and worshipfully feared the Lord and who thought on His name. 17And they shall be Mine, says the Lord of hosts, in that day when I publicly recognize and openly declare them to be My jewels (My special possession, My peculiar treasure). And I will spare them, as a man spares his own son who serves him.
