I and my husband are music buffs. I don't mean that we can tell you the year a song was made or when it hit the charts exactly but we both like various types of music from all of the generations such as doo-whop, jazz, big band and all rock to name a few.
Through the years we have made a game out of our vast knowledge of lyric lines. One of us would sing a line from a random song while the other song the next line. The game was born naturally and we play all the time without giving it a thought. It has become one of our ways of doing things together when we are on the road or doing household chores. Unfortunately, our kids hate it.
One day our sons had a couple freinds over. The group was playing quietly in their room and we sort of forgot they had freinds over. We started to play our little game to pass the time and had done two or three songs when our boys came out of the room without their friends. They wanted us to stop because their freinds was hearing us. When we said "So?", they informed us that it was embarrassing to have such strange parents! They ended up grabbing their freinds and leaving.
I was actually embarrassed for them and myself. I remember when I thought my mom was not a normal mom. I try to make sure that we don't play that game around certain people anymore.
