The Local Library

My Library adventure:

The day began early in the morning. It was early spring, and the sun was shining bright. All the kids, were happy to be home from school. So my friend, and I decided to get a bus to the public library, and rent a few books. We had a library bus that would come around every Friday night. We could take out several books, as long as we returned them in the next 2 weeks.

There were all kinds of books, on the library bus. There were Nancy Drew books and their were the Bopsy twins, and their were books for the boys, such as books about adventure and their were Robin Crusoe and their were education books, which have later on become my favorite.

The local Library had everything you could imagine. It had science and mystery books, and movies you can now rent. They also have a very nice children's section. The books are all cataloged in, so you can find any book that you want. I personally like the teenage section, of the library because there are so many books, to see and read. There are books about other countries, Their are books about their cultures, And their are also books, about science, and their are books about the 7 wonders of the world. This is the reason, I like these books. I started taking these out when one of my grandchildren was young because he was interested in the other countries.

Each library has a different selection of books to choose from. If you like to read, or if you have time to read, go to your local library and get a good book.

Well this one day, my friend and I were going to the local library. My mother was a work, and I decided my mother had a sweater just sitting in her drawer, that she never wore. She said it was her good sweater, and that it easily got pulls in it and not to touch it. So instead of listening to my mother, I decided, since I wasn't wearing a coat, to wear her sweater, on such a beautiful spring day!. The sweater was so big on me, that I had to really puff up the sleeves to make it look presentable. It was so big, that I didn't realize how foolish I looked. So off to the library we go. All excited about going someplace by ourselves. So as we were sitting at the library, which was very close to the police station and we began to read. Suddenly a man walked up to us and asked us if we were enjoying our books, and asked what the story was about. Then he asked us why we went to the library on such a beautiful day. So we proceeded to tell him. Well, he took our picture from the waist up, to put in the local daily newspaper. It was a feature story, about the teenagers at the library. So our pictures were going to be on the second page of the paper, with a story about the teenagers, at the library.

Well, we got our books checked out, and went to the bus stop to go home. So my friend went home and i went in the house.

I took my mother's sweater off, and folded it back up and but it in her drawer so she wouldn't notice that it had been worn.

So after changing my cloths my mother came home from work, and prepared dinner, Then I proceeded to tell her about the man at the library, and that my picture was going to be in the next days paper. Boy was I excited and my mother was so proud of me.

So the next day, when the paper was delivered There was the article with the picture just like the reporter said. However, my mother opened the paper to see the picture and the article, and she was suddenly quite upset. There I was in the paper in my mothers sweater. I couldn't understand why she was so upset. I looked at the picture, an I looked like a 5 year old playing in my mothers cloths. Needless to say, I got in quite a bit of trouble. I didn't realize my mother would recognize her sweater, since she never wore it. I got told not to ever go in my mothers dresser ever again and never to touch anything of hers in her room. She said if it is in there, it was in there for a reason.

So I went upstairs and sat down a little while, trying to explain to myself, why I had wore her sweater. Then I was called to dinner, and after a few disappointed looks, I soon forgot it. So after my mother died decades later. I was given her beautiful cloths and I never wore them, I just looked at them over and over again. Because they were my mothers.
