My Life as a Single Mom

Christine Morrow
I am a single mom to three children. I have two daughters ages 12 and 8, and I have an 8 month old son. I work Monday through Friday full time. Some days I feel like I am going out of my mind because I am busy from the time I wake up until my children go to bed. I have to wake up at 5:30 each morning and get the kids ready for school and myself ready for work. I feel very guilty at times, I feel like I don't spend much time with them. However, I need my job to keep the roof over our heads and the bills paid.

My 12 year old daughter KNOWS everything and I know nothing. She always tells me that she dislikes me which I obviously don't take serious because it's the age. My 8 year old is very hyper. She is always singing or dancing. My 8 month old son is such a good baby. I am very lucky to have healthy energetic children.

I am very fortunate that my mom helps me with my children while I am at work and whenever I need her. Unfortunately things didn't work out to well with me as far as relationships go. Basically I am the mom and dad with the sole care and decision maker for my children as their father is hardly around or in contact.

Being a single mom is very challenging but at the same time it's a blessing. My children will grow into adults but for now I will enjoy each moment of their childhood which will create memories that I will cherish forever.
