My Life: A Jigsaw Puzzle

Vinod Dharewa
She lived in a house of glass
so beautiful, so fragile.
She felt so happy and protected
as she looked at the outside world.

She thought that was her world,
that life outside would never affect her.
She shouldn't be bothered, it didn't matter,
she'd live her life all protected.

But one day the rain brought the storm,
It blew so hard it shattered the glass to pieces.
She fell down and cut herself deep,
but yet she stood her ground.

When the storm was over,
she picked up the pieces.
Glued them together
like a jigsaw puzzle.

The glass got fixed tight
but the cracks were showing.
Yet it stood strong,
stronger than before

Totally confused and blown over,
groping for peace and harmony,
she stood again with mixed feelings
inside the cracked house of glass.
