My Lipstick Broke, What Should I Do?

Shannon Frye
You just purchased a brand new shade of lip stick from a place on vacation. You absolutely love this color and you're not sure what you will do once the lipstick runs out. You run into the bathroom to reapply your lipstick and the lipstick falls off and lands in the sink. You immediately panic because now, you're new lipstick is broken and you have no lipstick to use. At this point you're thinking about running to the department store to pick up a new shade of lipstick, until you start to read this article.

You will want to go and find a plastic bag somewhere in your home. You will then want to scoop the broken off section of lipstick onto the top of the bag and bring the container with you as well. If you threw away the container you will need to dig it back out of the trash can because you need this part in order to fix your broken lipstick. Take everything into the kitchen and try to find a light or a set of matches. If you don't have any lighters or matches you can wait until you purchase some later on.

You will need to find some way of holding the lipstick so that you can light the lighter. A match works the best because you can strike the match and then grab onto the lipstick with the other hand. Some way or another, you will need to use a match or a lighter to heat up the lip stick which fell off of the container and broken in half. You will need to heat it up until you see that it is starting to melt. Once it does start to melt you will want to grab the container and press the lipstick down onto the spot where it broke off.

You will want to make sure that you press hard enough so that the lipstick will not fall back off. Once you have made sure that the lipstick is pressed down enough you will want to place your lipstick container in your fridge without the cap on. You will leave it in the fridge until the lipstick cools down and re-seals itself. You might not be able to use this lipstick before you leave today but you will be able to use it tomorrow and over and over again, until the next time that it breaks.
