Each day you grow more,
As you spread your wings,
Preparing to soar.
Many of the little things,
I just don't see anymore.
The way you used to giggle,
At every little thing,
The joy of playing Barbies,
And of going out to swing,
Endless energy abounding.
I know you're growing up now,
more and more every day,
I just can't help but see,
And mourn the passing of,
That little girl of yesterday.
I know that I can't stop it,
I just can't help but miss,
The little girl inside you,
That grew and grew,
Giving me sweet bliss.
So one day, when you feel it,
Just give that smile.
I'll know what it means,
My girl is back,
If only for a while.
No matter all the tensions,
The arguements and fights,
Or the bumps in the road,
God gave me something special,
You--to hold.

Oh how sweet!!!
Very sweet! My youngest is 8 and has been transitioning from "little kid" toys to wanting more "big girl" things. This poem hit home for me!
