Faintly, I saw it looking my way the other day
I smiled and turned but continued my way
I thought love had called out my name
But I was simply busy playing the game
Then someone I knew said they saw it as well
However, their words were empty describing you
I desperately sought this desire to cure
So many opinions, yet no one was sure
Some said you were dark, others said plain
I grew skeptical, believing nothing was gain
Many seasons had passed and life grew strangely vague
Each day I continued like love was a horrible plague
However, it never moved, like a tall mighty tree
Suddenly, i was puzzled, why had the lover called me
Without any self control, I found myself drawn near
His gaze of desire, intensely piercing, making my life clear
Oh, how my lover is a seeker of extreme companionship
Misguided passion, for awhile, forgot this awesome power grip
For my selfish desire rejected my lover time and time again
Only now do I understand patience, why love calls me friend
The lover of my soul captivated the passion of my heart
His radiant, extreme glow is my navigational chart
My shame was revealed, but mercy covered me in the shadow
My Spirit is lifted, my head shall no longer be hung low
Who am I that love would show me favor
Extreme desire chose to be my savior
I looked inward and could only see a pathetic wasted life
My lover was rejoicing with passion and calling me wife
His eyes are an all consuming fire
Because of your love, I do not tire
I am my lover's and my lover is mine
Jesus, my true lover, makes me shine
His grace is sufficient, extreme mercy too kind
If it wasn't for love, I would have lost my mind
I smiled and turned but continued my way
I thought love had called out my name
But I was simply busy playing the game
Then someone I knew said they saw it as well

I discovered that love is unconditional! Love motivates us to go deeper. We see our imperfections, love sees us as a work in progress, looking better tomorrow than we do today. Love is quick to forgive and swift to defend.
