My Meteoric Rise to Fame

Jaahda Jinnah
.I saw a comment by another AC content producer that ran along the lines of 'internet famous but still living in poverty'. For a number of complex personal reasons I have been trying now for years to find a successful way to earn a decent living on the internet.
I've tried lots of things and put in lots of intense efforts yet still I keep returning to the universities and prisons that have provided me with my basic bread and butter for many years now by providing me with sessional contracts.
In the way-backs I was a famous psychic managing to earn a good living that way. Though for many reasons, some of which I have touched on in other articles this no longer seems an open option for me.
Whilst studying my family genealogy I found I was related directly, and in a consanguineal way to Robert the Bruce. Will this crusade to find an online living be the death of me I wonder. Or will I eventually succeed just as did that now famous spider?

For as long as I can remember I wanted to be a writer. And at school I won many writing prizes and even got some short stories and plays I wrote published into school text books.
But I have always had excuses for not becoming a writer; despite the fact that I have already published two books and have around half a dozen books just waiting for me to press the 'publish' button.
Always I have needed to 'earn a living'.

My initial forays into the possibilities of earning my crusts being an online writer took me to some strange places. And I joined up some freelancing sites too. It didn't take me long to form the opinion that these sites were manned by 'cut throat merchants' in the market of exploiting anyone who may wish to become an online writer. It didn't take me very long to work out that I would be lucky to afford the plastic wrapping around the loaf of bread.
I joined an online community that requires subscriptions believing it may be a place to earn a living. I met some completely wonderful people there but learned real quickly, by looking at the earnings of their best paid writers that here too I might only be able to afford the odd plastic wrapper or two.
Nonetheless, always being a goal oriented person and a high achiever I set myself a goal to get into the top 10 writers on the site and then proceeded to write voraciously for a week or two before rising to those dizzy heights I had aspired to.

Recently I discovered AC and started writing around 6 weeks ago in late April. More or less each week I managed to rise to another clout level and, right now as we speak those AC counters are updating the numbers and if they had waited perhaps another hour or so I would have today graduated onto Clout 5. Bummer - I'll have to wait another few days.
I started writing here realizing that AC do not pay Aussies any upfront payments though I hope and imagine that they may soon change their minds - particularly if I can become popular.
Under the 'calls for content' I notice there are quite a few categories I could enter, most particularly those to do with 'weird and wonderful' diets but being that my first accepted article on here was a submission in response to one of those calls for content that I have seen no particular advantage in submitting I have so far chosen to keep my culinary skills untapped and unseen at AC. Otherwise right now I might be tapping away writing up gluten free, sugar free, egg free, wheat free, whatever free recipes.
I set my goals to get into the Top 1000 before the end of August or so. And to have around 200 articles up by that time too.
Now perhaps someone more seasoned around here could tell me what happens if (and when) I do get into the Top 1000? Does that mean someone else gets usurped; I guess it does.
One thing I'm hoping is that someone might 'discover me' and press whatever that magic button is that will then allow me to earn a decent living as a writer.
And until I get my 200 articles up and/or into the Top 1000 I will most likely not abate in my efforts on this site.

I have abandoned many other forms of internet earnings. I worked at a top online psychic site where it took me only 3 months to get onto the front page. However I decided that being on first page still not make me a decent living so I went back to my work at a local university.
Though recently I took another foray over there because I needed to pay for some mechanical repairs costing around 600 bucks and to this end I slogged until I had earned it. The hourly rate worked out to be about 2.75 an hour; hardly what I would call a decent living.
I tend to throw myself right into my tasks, I hesitate to say I get obsessive but those high achieving goals I set for myself help focus me. Luckily they're moderately achievable and so far I have achieved the goals I've set myself before abandoning the post.
So be warned - if history repeats itself for me here on AC I may too abandon the post. After all I am sensible enough to know that I will never be able to pay the bills and live on $1.50 per thousand page views. One can hardly afford the plastic wrapper at that rate.
Whatever happens I'm sure I'll meet some new friends. Thankfully I already have.
I also note that on here there are some professional writers who, in journalistic fashion can write on any topic asked of them and whilst I feel I could also do that I actually intend to remain within the confines of the wide range of subjects whose matter I am pretty familiar with.

Though by roaming around this AC site where I find there is almost invariably something interesting to read I recently read on article which was headed under the 'make an income online' section about being a medical transcriptionist or medical editor. Now this field of potential has gotten me intrigued and I wonder if I can find a niche there as I imagine I may well have the qualifications and writing abilities to fill the post and it also seems to pay sufficiently well to buy more than plastic wrappers.
Though I also imagine I would need a good American-English spell checker specific to medically used words and terminology. We do spell differently in this part of the world - and I did attend Latin classes in high school too. Anyone who can give me any useful assistance please feel free to do so.
So - until I reach that 200 article goal and/or get into the Top 1000 I will still be around, though one of the beauties of this place is that the hits still rise even after you've long written your article. I'm sure I'll never completely disappear from here.

Anyone with some really good, ethical ideas for me to earn a decent living online (or even by phone) let us know.
And also anyone who needs a consultation with a good, naturally gifted psychic or who would like to get into some shamanic transformational and ongoing therapy please don't hesitate to contact me directly. I've been working from across the borders for a few years now so you can consider me as close by as the psychic or therapist just a few blocks away from your front door.
I can even write 'letters with balls' but this is another matter. Keep posted.

Gee, if I knew how to make a living online (still trying), I'd be doing it. Good luck to both of us!

p.s. the Top 1000 was a brand new thing this past year. It was decided on by AC officials who would get the top 1000. It wasn't based on page views

Good luck, Jaahda. And don't give up! It will happen somehow, somewhere

Thanks for your wishes Janet :-) My meteoric rise has been somewhat dampened this morning. i came in to see that i was no longer only 32 hits fouk of clout 5 - and that in fact during my sleeping hours around 1800 hits have been taken away. boohoo - still a long way to go now to No5!!!

you can get a free programme called ieSpell [google it] and install it with US spelling on your computer it allows you to type messages on web page forums and check your spelling before posting, i used this when working for a psychic texting company and found it works well, i am sure it would work for you with all the medical jargon if you go ahead with that option. i wish you well in the pursuit of decent financial earnings via cyber waves : )
