Yankees vs. Indians - Save perhaps for a quality third starter, the Yankees outclass the Indians in just about every category. This should be a blowout series, even if A-Rod struggles. Yankees over Indians in 3
Angels vs. Red Sox - Boston has had a great season against the Angels, who play a style of ball that the Red Sox match easily. LA might put up a good fight, but the Red Sox will win out. Red Sox over Angels in 4
Yankees vs. Red Sox - Boston's great pitching is hard to beat in a short series, but Andy Pettitte and Roger Clemens know how to crack down when crunch time comes. Moreover, history has two great lessons: don't invade Russia by land, and don't pick the Red Sox over the Yankees in October. Yankees over Red Sox in 6

Cubs vs. Diamondbacks - Come on, is this even a choice? The Cubs are only in the playoffs because of their terrible division. The Diamondbacks may have a slow offense, but they have good starting pitching and a tight bullpen. Diamondbacks over Cubs in 3
Rockies vs. Phillies - Give the Rockies whatever praise you want, but remember, the Cardinals won it last year not because they were the best team, but because they were the hottest. The Phillies are playing red hot baseball down the stretch, fresh off their comeback over the Mets. The Rockies are tearing too, but not playing tremendous ball the way the Phillies are. Phillies over in 4
Phillies vs. Diamondbacks - The Phillies' heat may or may not have worn off by this point, but they can match the D-backs in starting pitching with Hamels and Moyer. And with a monstrous lineup 1-8, Philly will be tough to undo. Phillies over Diamondbacks in 5
Phillies vs. Yankees - It's hard to pick a favorite between two very similar teams. Both lead their league in runs scored, both have tough veteran starting pitching, and both have a big question mark in the bullpen. Give the Yankees the slight bullpen advantage with Mariano, but Joba and Edwar Ramirez haven't been tested in the playoffs yet. The one deciding factor is, the Yankees have been tough to beat at home, and the American League has home field advantage. The big worry for the Yanks will be A-Rod. If he's his usual postseason self, the Phillies will have the advantage, but if the superstar third baseman can make himself even slightly productive, the Yankees will come away with the crown.
