He has always been behind in his speech because of this. He was doing well in school but because of his medical condition and he is the youngest one in his class (he missed the cutoff by 6 days). He was behind but they were working very hard with him.
Parent Teacher conferences arrived and I was nervous about his progress. His teacher had a surprise for us after we came into the room. She asked my son to write his name and read from the book they were working on. After he wrote his name and read this little book it had words like dog and cat with pictures, I cried. I spent the rest of the conference with a Kleenex in my hand. I have prayed for this day and was extremely grateful and relieved that he had accomplished so much in a small amount of time.
To this day he keeps making progress and the cist has not returned. Nightly I keep working with him in hopes that he will catch up to everyone else.
