My Most Utilized Applications for the IPhone or ITouch

Denise Hahn
How exciting! You finally got the extremely popular iTouch or iPhone. You will soon realize how useful it is by the vast array of applications that are offered through the Apple store. Soon, you will not be able to put it down!

Initially you may become overwhelmed when you first access the Apple with the sea of applications that are offered. Where do you start? What are the best applications? This article is here to help! The following are a list of applications that I use on a daily basis and I can not live without:

Panodora Radio
Pandora Radio is a personalized internet service that can be used on the iPhone or on the iTouch with a WIFI connection. The program allows you to find and listen to free streaming music based on genre or based on a specific song, band or group. Pandora will create your own personal station based on the music you like. I personally like to use this application when I am in to mood to listen to a certain genre but do not have a vast music library on my iTouch. It is also a great way to listen to new musicians or find fresh tracts. The best part about this application is that it is free, yes, I said FREE!

Echofon For Twitter
Echofon for Twitter is available as a free application or as a 'Pro'. The free service allows you to easily view your Twitter friends, messages, post replies and find your favorites. You can also write Tweets and upload pictures and video if your device is enabled.

I especially enjoy the search feature that allows you to search the Twitter world using a keyword. It is great for finding trending topics. An advantage to this application is that it works flawlessly and rarely/never crashes.

The pro version also allows you to manage more than one account, push notifications if you are mentioned in a Tweet, offers a landscape keyboard, instapaper integration as well as multi-color themes.

Users have mentioned that compared to other Twitter apps, Echofon is by far the closest to being perfect and the most reliable.

The Weather Channel.
The iTouch or iPhone comes with limited weather application that is on the device, however, The Weather Channel application offers a lot of great features that the device's application does not offer. It offers location-based current conditions, forecasts, radar maps, severe weather alerts and video forecasts similar to those found on TV.

Users mention that this application is very user friendly and it makes the iPhone worthwhile all by itself. I, along with many other users find that this application is by far the most often used application. I wake up, grab my cup of coffee and check out the Weather Channel on my iTouch.

Facebook
This free application allows you to view your Facebook account. You can post status updates, chat with your online friends, upload pictures and videos and catch up with all your Facebook friends. Who needs a computer?

Textfree Lite
This one you won't believe. This free application (yes free) allows you to send and receive free text messages from your iTouch only. The Lite version allows you to send a limited amount daily. Textfree Unlimited a one-time fee application but allows you to send an unlimited amount of texts.

Users state that this is the fastest and most reliable texting application. This is a great application if your kids have the iTouch and no cell phone. It allows them to text you.

PandoraBox
Many applications for the iTouch and iPhone go on sale, however, it is very difficult to know which ones are on sale. This free application provides you with the ability to see which applications are on sale. This application has provided me many free applications that otherwise cost money.

Word Scramble By Zynga
This application is one of the top 20 applications and has been known to free (keep an eye out). This game is a must for Boggle or Scrabble lovers. The object of the game is to find words by connecting letters in a grid. You also have the ability to compete against your friends and play live. This game can sometimes be challenging but very addicting!

Fuzzle
An addicting game where you move colored balls to create lines of five balls of the same color which then disappear. After you move a ball more balls are added until the screen is completely filled. This game has a relatively simple concept but is incredibly addicting. A great bonus is that it keeps the children busy when you are in the need for some quiet time.

Last but not least...Calling all Twilight and New Moon fans...
A Twilight Trivia - Twilight Movie and Book (New Moon and Eclipse also available)
Challenge your friends and test your skills with trivia questions based on the Stephanie Meyer Twilight series. Correct answers are tallied and the players are provided a score for instant bragging rights. Questions are continually added for fresh material. Enough said!
