My Muse Doesn't Want to Pay Her Dues

(and you too Yahoo)

I have duties it's true.

Busy I get, write about pets

and spelling and such

but sometimes it's too much

and my muse, not enthused,

will shriek and complain

and be one big pain

crying out with drama

"who do you think I am a

writer of exposition,

an expert in diction?

Not so! My words flow

when I write from my heart

stay true to my art

Not so rarely be literary

so seldom poetic

that it's pathetic."

I just say hey, you gotta pay

your dues my dear muse

don't be a diva, a big prima donna,

write stuff whether or not you wanna!

Those up front fees

that come from AC

pay for lunches, gym crunches

the gas in my tank

so AC I thank

and you too
