Betty Thomas* of Cleveland, Ohio, recently went through the procedure, and according to her accounts, it's a safe and effective way to lose annoying pockets of fat.
"SmartLipo was great," says Thomas. "It was quick and easy and it got rid of fat that I've been trying to remove for years."
Thomas said her doctor told her that the ideal SmartLipo patient is one who is not obese, but merely has certain pockets of fat that need to be removed, such as around the waist, chin, hips, buttocks or thighs. Thomas had fat underneath her chin and upper arms removed by the procedure. Besides not being obese, Thomas was a candidate for SmartLipo because she is in good health and lives a fairly active lifestyle. Other prerequisites for the procedure include a health record free of diabetes, liver problems, blood disorders, kidney problems, heart problems and skin disorders.
So how does it work? According to Thomas, she made an appointment and was in and out within the same day. Prior to the procedure, her doctors used a local anesthetic to numb the target areas. Then, the laser zapped the fat cells and broke them up. The fluid release from the fat cells was then drained away by the body's lymphatics. The laser causes the blood vessels to coagulate immediately, so there wasn't a lot of bleeding or swelling. The entire procedure took about 45 minutes.
"What I really liked about it is that there was virtually no swelling," says Thomas. "Plus, my doctor said the laser affects the collagen in my skin, and that it will cause my skin to tighten and shrink. I can't believe how simple it was."
Thomas reports that she had a pain-free recovery, and that some minor bruises went away a couple days after the procedure. She was a little tired and achy the night after, but was fine the next day and returned to work.
"Besides some minor discomfort, the recovery was a breeze," she says.
Thomas said that she saw immediate results, and after a few weeks her body was starting to contour to the changes. She said her doctor told her that the full results would be seen two months from the date of the procedure.
Thomas's doctor told her that the fat removal is semi-permanent, and the fat will stay off if she sticks to a diet and exercise plan. And, she plans to do just that.
"I've been dieting and working out for years trying to get rid of my double chin and saggy arms," she says. "No matter what I did they just wouldn't go away. But now they're gone and I'm going to keep it that way."
Thomas said the entire procedure cost around $3,000, but, to her, it was money well spent. The peace of mind and finally being happy in her own skin made it all worthwhile.
"It was fast, easy, relatively pain-free and affordable," says Thomas about SmartLipo. "I was skeptical at first, but it really works. If you've got some trouble areas, I recommend it."
Thomas is just one story, but, seemingly, SmartLipo is a safe and effective way to get rid of unsightly areas on the body. If you're looking to get rid of pockets of fat or cellulite, look into SmartLipo. It may be the best decision you've ever made.
"I loved SmartLipo," says Thomas. "I don't know how it's worked for other people, but it's been a godsend for me. I'm finally comfortable with every part of my body."
