My Oakland Raiders Christmas Wish List

Matt Martz aka The Noise Factor
Fourteen weeks into the 2008-09 season and the Raiders continue their downward spiral. At 3-9, one can only be thankful that you are not a Detroit Lions fan.

Who said Christmas doesn't come early? According to the latest CBS Sports line Playoff tracker. The Raiders are not out of contention yet. With only two teams officially out of the AFC playoff race, one being the Bengals and the other the Chiefs.

The Raiders play the second place ailing San Diego Chargers, this Thursday night. Whoever wins will be in second place in the AFC. If the Raiders win this week and Kansas City wins next week, there is a small possibility that an Oakland playoff bid is still possible.

Just in case the Raiders can't do it on their own, I thought I would write down a few things that the Raiders need for Christmas. Maybe Santa will be kind and sprinkle a little Christmas Magic on the Raider Nation.

Here they are:

Three games this year where "JaMillions" Russell completes 60%+ of his passes

Any Raider RB to get back to over 4 YPC for the year, maybe even Fargas

One game with no O-line penalties

A better first round draft choice in 2009

Get the ball rolling on a Nnamdi contract

A 100+ yd game for Javon Walker or any Raider WR

A large safe that falls out of the sky and crushes Al Davis. We could use the money in the safe to keep Nnamdi, Morrison and some others...and the safe, well, it already did its job.

So as a Raiders fan that pretty much covers it. But in the spirit of giving, I wanted to make one Christmas list for all football fans. That would be for NFL commissioner Goodell, all the support he needs from all NFL fans fed up with some of the thugs still permeating the NFL rosters. Keep swinging that big stick, and hopefully the only muggings that we will be seeing will happen between the lines like they are supposed to
