My Own Love Story

Casey
I was nineteen and you were twenty-two

It was love at first sight, there in the garage

The first time I picked you up my alternator went

You were stunned when I pulled up to park behind my brothers

And pick up my short box Chevy, you asked to drive, I said no

But you ended up driving us through a crazy trail with a huge hill on it

Gina saying no go back go back....

Those nights will always be treasured

The party at the crazy trailer house in Mak

That night at Brad's...

We fed my horse in the morning then in the afternoon Whites Lake, ice fishing

Perfect date for me, I've been fishing longer than I've been out of diapers

Then when you told me about going to the boundary waters, kayaking, hunting,

And Dog sledding I was floored

I couldn't believe I had met the perfect guy

Then when I went through the railroad tie picking up leading into diagnoses

of PTSD

You were there for me, no matter what

Now two years later we still read each others minds

We take care of each other, always thinking about what the other may want

I think combined we have more hours in a fish house than anyone else I know

Two years later with Valentines came a ring

Beautiful braided with diamonds and white gold, exactly what I wanted

because I picked it out

Someday they'll be a wedding, hopefully in the boundary waters in a camo

dress
