My Own Online Wiccan Store

How I Entered the Realm of E-business Ownership

Lillian Ryvers
While I have always had a fascination with witches, Wicca, and the "unusual," I never thought that it would lead me to opening my own online Wiccan store. While I have not always followed the Path, I have always felt myself drawn back to it when I was searching for "the" religion that was meant for me. Who knew that my predestination as a Witch and my growing business sense would lead me to opening my own online Wiccan store?

Just a few short months ago, I finished my Associate degree in Accounting and finish my Associate degree in Business next week. Several of my recent classes required me to make a mock online store, and that is when it hit me. I was going to open my own online store and give it a try. After all, there are not a lot of metaphysical stores online that offer quality products at a reasonable price.

In two weeks, I had found two excellent suppliers who had the products I wanted to sell and found a great web hosting service. I started the daunting task of adding my witchy items to the online catalog. Bear in mind that while I do this, I am also responsible for college-level school work, four rambunctious children, a house, a husband, and a job. Yet, it only took two weeks to get enough products on my store to go live and begin promotion efforts. Apparently, I learned something of value between school and my AC promotions because my first order came within three hours of going live.

I am now on the road to being a successful online business owner. As my online store grows, I hope to also open a physical store in my area. Fear of Wiccans and Pagans seem to lead to a lack of good, reputable stores in smaller communities, forcing those who wish to buy from such stores to commute 30 minutes or more. Personally, I would like to use my store to educate our community on how helpful such a store can be to a community, through volunteering, contributions, and other charitable work.

So, what types of products does my online store carry, you might wonder? Among my favorites are the handcrafted Book of Shadows, where Wiccans record their thoughts, rituals, and spells. There are numerous herbs, candles, and spell kits as well. I even have bath ritual teas that can be used by Pagans and non-Pagans alike for a relaxing trip to the tub.

If you would like to visit my new store to browse my witchy wares and mystical wonders, I welcome all. Of course, as time allows, I will be adding more products and some articles about Wicca and Paganism. To enter my metaphysical realm, please go to www.ryverswitchywonders.weblodge.net. Blessed be to all my friends, customers, and visitors.

Unfortunately, life has gotten to crazy to still have time to maintain my store. Fortunately, I have a very good friend who purchased the store from me and continues to nurture her growth. Thank Goddess for you, Amanda! :)

Great store! I'm taking a look right now :) Is it okay if I place a link to your store from my website? I feature stores for free. The website is witch-crafted.com. Thanks!

Which host are you using? I've looked into doing something similar but couldn't find a place that had a simple storefront that wasn't too complicated or too expensive.
