My Parenting and Motherhood Poop Stories

Poop as a Paint Medium and Other Fun

Jaipi Sixbear
Poop is a fact of life especially in motherhood or parenting. Some of the funniest parenting stories involve poop. A friend of mine actually had a baby whose favorite painting medium was his own poop. Talk about a parenting nightmare!

My kids never painted with their poop but I do have a couple parenting stories involving poop. The first involved the oldest daughter at the age of 3 months. She had a case of diarrhea. At the ripe age of 18, diapers were bad enough but this was a horrendous motherhood experience.

I got in the habit of standing back a bit but this didn't stop her from getting me dirty. Just as a new diaper was slipped under her one day she decided she was not done. A stream of poop went right up me, starting at my waist and ending in my face. Welcome to motherhood!

Her little brother gave me my parenting payback a few years later. As a time saver, the baby and toddler were bathed together. I will never forget the horrified look on the three year olds face when her brother let loose in the tub one day. It's a true test of motherhood to comfort a screaming, trembling, clawing 3 year old and balance a poopy baby in the other arm at the same time. Isn't motherhood a hoot?

Gee, and I thought Mickeysbigmouth was the Poo writer! You're right, jp, it's all part of parenting. I remember reading something while pg. w/my 3rd son. It said to think abt all the hrs spent changing poopy diapers, & ask yourself what is the face your baby sees every day for months ,years, as you clean them? Think what is tells them abt their body & intimate care if they see that disgust on your face every day. It said to be aware of your facial expression, to wipe gently & remember to give smiles & tickles or sing while changing diapers. As babies grow, they often get resistant to changing time. If it becomes just another expression of love for your baby, it'll go more smoothly. I took this to heart & put a mirror over the changing table to remind myself to smile & see the face my baby sees. That doesn't mean it won't be yucky, but it's a brief phase. BTW, I had a friend whose baby painted the wall w/ poo & she took a photo to show! A mother THAT proud, we could do without!

I've done enough things to send my kids to the shrink's couch. I decided to leave their poop stories buried!
