My Personal Experience with Soul Winner's Boot Camp

Splendora, Tx. 2010

First of all, I came into contact with Matt Maddix a few years back. I am sure it was through a friend of mine, whom I met online. All I could remember was things mentioned about his "Addicted" sermon and how he influenced and impacted outreach and evangelism. Since evangelism and outreach is my passion and I was interested, I merely added the Boot Camp MySpace page to my friend's list and thought nothing more of it. I gave up my Outreach Director position at church for about 3 years, because of personal reasons, like my divorce, etc. Now I am back in the grind and ready to take my church to the next level, so that we can fill the miracle of a new church that we have built; Praise God!

Back in March I was browsing YouTube and ran into Bro Maddix's SW Fire and Addicted videos from when he preached in Columbus, Ohio. It finally clicked! He was speaking to me, so I tuned in and have totally been in love with his passion ever since.

At first I was going to wait until August to go to El Dorado for Soul Winner's Bootcamp. However, on a spontaneous decision, I decided to book a hotel in Splendora, Tx. I am so glad that I did. I feel that if the Lord can give almost 100 people the Baptism of the Holy Ghost and we can baptize about 70 in Jesus name, in a town with half the people we have, He can do MORE here in Vivian, La. It gave me hope.

What I Experienced, Personally:

Honestly, the first night of Boot Camp, I was very tired, had fasted all day, was in utter amazement and shock and really cannot even remember what Bro Maddix preached on. All I know is that the anointing was extremely heavy and I knew through the Holy Ghost that the Lord was about to do something great in that city. I had felt that way as soon as I drove there, earlier that afternoon.

I was amazed at the great organization of the Boot Camp staff. Everything was orderly and very important. Between Bro Maddix and Bro Davis, we learned so much. What I got the most out of all of the seminars and speeches was the importance of focused prayer, retention of church guests and discipleship. These were all revelation to me. Now I know why we get so wore out "begging" people to come to church.

Kayla and I were very excited to blitz with the church members. We met some fantastic brothers and sisters! They were very hospitable and we were very grateful for them. The block party and youth bash were awesome! It took me back in time to the days of the Apostles. There is nothing like standing outside and worshiping the Lord. The anointing is greater. I encourage everyone to do it, just try it. To see people receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost, one right after another... there are NO words to describe that except for GOD IS AMAZING!

Amongst so many things that Bro Maddix taught, one thing that I loved the most and I am now using it, is how we talk to people. How should we approach people? He taught us that it's more than inviting them to church. It is building relationships, because compassion is what we need.

The Prayer March was by far my favorite experience. I believe in the power of unity prayer and intercessory prayer. This was phenomenal prayer! Walking through a town with about 100 Saints, rebuking spirits, binding strongholds and praying for the community is so powerful. When I do this on my own, I feel the power in it. I was absolutely speechless over what I felt with other brothers and sisters. There is something about doing this at night, as well. Spirits are more active then, I believe, so it was more effective and powerful. I was utterly amazed!

I just believe that Soul Winner's Boot Camp should be passed to others who are as passionate about it as Bro Maddix and the rest of the staff. We need more men of God who are willing to take the torch and do the same thing that Bro Maddix envisioned. Others need to see his vision and catch his passion, so that America and the rest of the world can be effectively ready for the Harvest. It is here!
