My son's birth was a scheduled c-section. Shane, my son was diagnosed with hydrocephalus while in the womb. He was four days early. Shane is a miracle baby, my everything. He weighed 6lbs, 13oz. How does a planned c-section become a humorous story to tell others?
Before I was hooked up to an IV and prepped for surgery, I had to urinate. I decided to hold it. This was to be my first major surgery and didn't know what to except. Boy was I in for a surprise. Or should I say the whole operating team? Why? The medicine they had given me in my epidural left my body numb from the chest down.
I was so relaxed and scared, I totally forgot I had to use the bathroom. Low and behold, an operating nurse announced my water had broke. But I wasn't so sure it was my water that had broke. I informed the nurse it must be "pee," she didn't agree with me. This conversation lasted for more than five minutes. Til I believe the nurse "smelled" urine, she announced it was urine and not my water. I was never more embarrassed than to know I had just peed myself.
At the time I had not thought it was funny. But it has been almost nine months ago since I peed on myself during my son's delivery. Those who hear of this story roar up in laughter. I find myself laughing right along with them. I never thought I would ever laugh with anyone who hears the story.
Who wouldn't laugh from the story of someone who peed themselves? I would and I have over and over again.
