You must understand that each person receives the salvation that is Christ in their own personal way: my story does not have to be your story and vice versa.
I knew about God from being raised in the Catholic Church. At 17 years old I joined the Army and remained there for 12 long years. I asked God if I got out of the Service would He help me because the military was all I knew. He gave me the peace and assurance to go ahead and leave from military service. So, I got out and went to California. Although I knew of God, I didn't really know Him at the time.
While living in Ridgecrest, Ca. I worked with a man named Pete Orwig who was a pay phone technician and he told me that He was a Christian and therefore wasn't one for cursing or dirty jokes. I was glade that he told me this so I would offend him in any way. So I asked him if I could possibly probe him about the Bible. He agreed so I went ahead and asked several questions and for each question, he pointed me to a Bible verse. He would say to look up John 14:6 for example. He would ask me what I was looking at and I would respond by saying I was looking at Revelation. Then he would say that I was too far ahead and that I would need to back up a bit. You see, most Catholics do not read their Bibles; they're not sure where to start or finish. After working with him for a week, he invited me to a prayer meeting that he attended. So on a Thursday evening I went to the meeting in November of 1980.
The meeting was at Pete's double wide mobile home and I took my seat on an eight foot orange couch. I sat on the left side and another person on the right but with no one in between us. Before they started to pray, Pete told me that they take turns praying out loud and if I wanted to pray I could, but to remember that I was praying to God and not to them (for me this meant a lot being that I knew nothing about praying). As the first man started to pray I listened and as they prayed I said in my mind that I would like to pray out-loud as well. But there was a voice inside that said, "You don't know how to pray. They'll make fun of you if you pray and talk about you at work too." So I firmly decided to decline the opportunity to pray. Another voice just a little lower said, remember that you are praying to God and not them. Then another started to pray. So as I listened to the prayer I said, again in my mind, that I want to pray and this went back and forth many times. Then Pete began to pray and I finally decided that I don't care if they make fun of me because they said I would be praying to God and not to them (I really meant it this time). My eyes were closed at that time but remarkably, I felt someone sit next to me from the side of my right leg up to my shoulder and I felt an arm go over to my left shoulder and it delivered a peace in my body that I can't explain. At that moment a voice said to look and see who it is and I said no, because I know it is Jesus and if I do He'll leave me (this reflects the little I knew from the Catholic church upbringing). When Pete finished praying I was crying uncontrollably and as I started my attempt to pray, Pete could see what was happening to me and he came over and asked me if I would like to have Jesus in my heart. I said yes. He asked me to read Romans 10:9-10 but I was crying so much I couldn't see the letters (due to the tears of joy of what I felt being Jesus' touch). So Pete read them and asked me to pray the sinner's prayer with him and mean it with all my heart. So I did. I had an unexplainable peace that even to this day, is difficult to describe. I know that I belong to Jesus Christ and no one can take that from me. That is how the Lord Jesus came to me and I to Him.
If you have never asked Jesus into your HEART then you must do it in order to go to heaven with God.
For Jesus him self gave this promise and said:
Rom 10:9
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Rom 10:10
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Rom 10:11
For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
Rom 10:13
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
2 Corinthians 6
2B. Behold, now is the accepted time; behold now is the day of salvation.
1 John
10. He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself; he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.
11. And this is the record that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
12. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
13. These things hath I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
Phl 2:10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth,
Phl 2:11 and [that] every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ [is] Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Please say a prayer like this from the heart:
Lord Jesus, I believe you are the Son of God, and you died, and rose from the dead for my sins, forgive me, come into my life and be my Lord and savior in Jesus name: Amen.
Now, the next thing to do is get baptized to show the world that you have died with Christ and raised with him in the new life, you'll live now and forever. For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his glory, and in his Father's, and of his holy angels. Luke 9:26
1 Corinthians 6:19-20
19What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
20For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
1 John 2:15
15Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any men love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
Luke 21:11 (King James Version)
11And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.
This is why we are having earthquakes and the big one has not come yet. I want you ready when it does come so you will know where you will be going when life as you know it will end. If you seen or have not seen 2012 this is a sign of what may happen. God is telling us to be ready for time is short -- the end is soon!!!
Are you ready to meet your maker???
PLEASE take note: I would like to note, that the Jesus of Mormonism (the brother of the devil), the Jesus of the Jehovah's Witnesses (an angel made into a man), the Jesus of the New Age (a man in tune with the divine consciousness), etc., cannot save you from your sins. Faith is only as good as the person in whom you put it... the Jesus of the King James Holy Bible. (Not from some other type of Bible). Jesus is God in flesh, the creator. God is a trinity and Jesus is the second person of the trinity.
In life we will serve someone or something. We are born to serve Satan because we inherited the same sin that Adam and Eve had done in the beginning of time.
