My Power Within

Is it not true that we are our father's children? How many times do we hear from friends, relatives and even enemies tell us that we are just like our parents are? The way we talk and the way we decide on things. These are some of the basis that other people use to conclude that we act like our parents. Some close friends would say that we look physically like our mother or our father, thus, it cannot be denied that we are their children.

In this connection, I came to extrapolate that if we truly believe that we are children of the most powerful God and Jesus our older brother then we must have inherited some of their greatness. We must have some kind of power running in our veins. Can you remember some great writers of long ago stating that we have the power to change the world starting from within? There must be some truth in this statement for we see a lot of proof how simple people turn out to be the greatest minds in some remote century and even some contemporary ones. I believe in my heart that Abraham Lincoln did not know when he was still a kid that he will one day become a president of his country. He created his destiny by deciding at some age that his profession would be to become a president. Nor did Albert Einstein worked for the ideas he contributed to science when he was 6 years old knowing for certain that he will be one of the great minds in his lifetime. No, he did not. He must have been in some situation at the time when he decided to answer the best as he can whatever it is that baffles him. Along the way both of these individuals decided to create the kind of life they want. One visualized himself leading his country before he will pass away from this world. Another one resolved to answer the most baffling questions in his time which in one way or another he successfully has.

As mediocre as most of us are, we cannot even begin to conceive that we are capable of such greatness. We come to ask ourselves, where do we start to become like the most successful and well-renowned people in history? What do we need to do? What tools did they use to become what they are? Is there a kind fairy that granted there good fortune? Is there a special routine or mantra that they use to get exactly what they want? Did they depend on the fact that they are children of God who inherited some power within to make all their dreams come true? Whatever it was that made them successful, whatever it was that made them do what they were doing one thing is certain we have the same capacity, too. They were not born so differently from us except that they were able to tap and recognize their power within to make their dreams come true. How to unleash the true power within us is some mystery.

Most of us take it all for granted. Most of us consider such talk of power inconsequential but it is very essential indeed. For it is something that surely works. The disney fairy tales especially the princess stories who promoted dreaming and believing what we are capable of doing although it is not manifesting yet are great examples. There was the story of Kung Fu Panda. Another would be that of Cinderella. The fact of the story is that good always triumphs. The portrayal of being great by not allowing anybody or anything have power over us. These are some of life's lessons that we have taken for granted thinking that good fortune comes to all except to us. This is baloney. We are all born as children of God. We are all born with the capacity to tap in our inheritance. Let us believe. Let us unleash the power we have within. Start dreaming again.
