My Prayer
From TB'S Poetry Book "Disturbances"
God has done me wrong
that why my eyes do glisten
He has given me a man
someone who I love
A man who cares not for me
though sent for me from above
I do for him all I can
but it doesn't seem to matter
For with every word he speaks
me heart he seems to tatter
I suppose I must be thankful
to our God Almighty
That I can give someone my love
though to a different person nightly.
