My Precious Newborn

After twelve hours of labor and anticipation, I finally caught a glimpse of my bundle of joy for the very first time. There is nothing better than finally seeing and physically being able to hold what you have been carrying around for the past nine months. You look deep into this little child's eyes and thank God for being so blessed. Letting your eyes wonder, you overlook the perfection that is your creation, five fingers and five toes, everything exactly as it should be.

I remember just looking down at my little girl, and my mind went completely blank. There was nothing on my mind, but her at that moment and the memories that were to come. As she looked at me, I got lost in her eyes and I could tell her father did as well. We knew that being parents would be a joy, but it's beyond that when you actually have your child in your arms. You have a wonderful creation from you and your significant other and it's your to care for, love, keep safe, and teach as the years go on.

The first time you hold your baby will be an experience you will never forget. It is an inspiration to create the life that will enhance this child's life, through any means possible. As you hold up the baby's head, knowing you hold it's life in your hands, it becomes an empowering feeling. All other worries fade away in comparison to what you now cuddle against your chest. Through the cries and smiles, all things at this moment seem obsolete, and they are.
