My Product Review of the Hannah Montana Dance Mat

I'm sure you already know that this Hannah Montana dance mat is sold out in most places. It was one of the "hot toys" this Christmas. I bought this for my 7 year old daughter and she also has the older version without the wig. Here is my review of both Hannah Montana dance mats, as well as links for where to purchase the mats.

The New Version Hannah Montana Dance Mat Basic Premise, Price, And Availability: The new version is the model that is immensely popular right now. This version has a blond Hannah wig, a microphone and the mat itself, which lights up. Basically, this toy allows children to learn dance moves to the three Hannah Montana songs: "Who Said?," "Best Of Both Worlds" and "This Is My Life. " Dancing moves and instruction appear on an included DVD which features young dances teaching, step by step, the routines to the songs.

I have to say, my daughter was most excited about the wig, but don't expect it to look like Miley's wig for long, especially since most kids (my daughter included) probably won't take very good care of it. She still wears the wig though. It works well enough to get the effect that she wants. Also, it's probable that your child won't immediately dance like Hannah in a few hours. It's not really professional dance instruction. It's basically geared so kids can have fun, get some exercise, and learn basic moves so that they can confidentially dance to Hannah Montana songs. The retail for the mat is about $35, but there are often cheaper places to get it.

The Older Version Hannah Montana Dance Mat Basic Premise, Price, And Availability: The older version (with the picture of Hannah actually on the mat) does not include the blonde wig, but I feel this one is still worth the $40 price tag, because it is a bit better quality than the new version. Also, the lights and music seem to make more sense and be better in sync with the video. In a nutshell, in my opinion this one is more user friendly. This version is incredibly hard to find, but there are still a few vendors will limited quantities.

All in all, my daughter likes them both. I feel the older one is a better product, but the newest one is a "hot, must have toy" so of course she has to have that one too and she enjoys it as do her friends. Would I buy them again? Without question.
