My Ranking of Movies That Came Out in the Last Two Years

1. There will Be Blood
No much special effects for this movie, just good old fashion acting. Daniel Day-Lewis delivers a truly stunning performance that is second to none. An outstanding storyline that has to be consider one of the most well written pieces of art in the past decade. Director Paul Thomas Anderson did an exceptional job with making a movie that is a hard sell to the younger demographic accepted by everyone.

2. The Dark Knight
Christopher Nolan's dark night has the potential to be crowned the best Superhero movie ever made. A long truly grabbing performance from all aspects lands the "Bat-Man" the number two spot. Unfortunately an incredible performance from an ensemble of supporting cast members was overlooked because of an Oscar worthy performance form the late Heath ledger as the Joker. Fair to say the next installment of the mysterious cape crusader has humongous shoes to fill. Good Luck!

3. Wall-E
Basically an adorable hunk of metal, Wall-E is a enjoyable movie for all ages. What was probably the hardest job of any movie in the past five years held up just fine. What made it so difficult was the fact that it had to keep the attention of a mostly young, energetic crowd of kids without silly, sappy dialog. This movie captured the wow factor in the most innocent of possible ways. Cheers!

4. No Country For Old Men

If any movie picked the wrong time to come out it was "No Country for Old Men." Debuting at the same time as "There Will Be Blood," it was overlooked as well. At times it was hard to watch this movie, mostly because of actor Javier Bardem portrayal of Anton Chigurh. Josh Brolin was a relatively fresh face that gave an refreshing performance along with Tommy Lee Jones who is always dependable. The storyline was gold from start to finish with the ending being one of the best in year. I was one of those hard to swallow movies in a good way.

5. Iron Man
Another movie that had big shoes to fill, Iron Man set itself up for failure before it debuted. With huge marketing expenses, and campaigns it delivered without a problem. Visually incredible, almost matching the intelligence of 300's visual ability. Robert Downey Jr. was the perfect cast for this project. Can't wait for the next one.

6. Forgetting Sarah Marshall
Great story. Finally we are getting away form the embarrassment of a male falling for a princess. Jason Segel play a songwriter that was abruptly dumped by his sub-famous girlfriend Sarah Marshall. He has no problem getting woman, and he does. It is a very entertaining movie. Russell Brand plays Aldous Snow who has sarcastically, the funniest performance.

7. I Am Legend
Will Smith has a lot on his shoulder in this movie, acting most of the movie by himself. Lets face it, movie just aren't scary anymore. Well that's what I though before the long, drawn out scene where Will character tries to find his best friend/dog in a dark rotten building, extremely tense! This movie has very believable visuals as well.

8. American Gangster
Well shot realistic drama. I am a sucker for a good drama. Ridley Scott is a genius at designing a move that holds you till the end. Incredible storyline of two men whose lives are compared through the movie as one lives lavish and the other scrapes bye.

9. Kung Fu Panda
Not as much of a jewel as expected. The bright side to this movie was the visual aspects. Not much new but all the while, very entertaining.

10. The Incredible Hulk
After being very disappointed form Ang Lee's 2003 Hulk, I went into this movie with a very bias opinion. I have to say I was impressed by it ability to separate itself from the other version. The trailer, the marketing, nothing was exceptional about this movie going in to see it, but walking out I was very surprised.
