It took me three years to pay it off completely, and it hasn't broke down yet. I really liked the fact that they carried name brand products like Whirlpool, which is one of my favorite brands for appliances. Next I purchased a refridgerator, since mine was really old and out dated. I was able to have that paid off in two years. At this point the only thing I didn't like about Buddy's Home Furnishings, is the fact that they don't report to any credit companies in your behalf.
Actually when I went in there to pay my last payment on the fridge I noticed that they had home stereos for sale. So of course I purchased 2 nice JVC home stereos, one for my house and one for work. I had these paid off in no time at all, because they cost much less than all of my appliances did. So by the time Christmas rolled around I was finished paying those off, so I was able to buy a few of my Christmas gifts there. They offer a wonderful warranty, so I purchased one of my son's an iPod, and the other two wanted Sony PSP's, which they did carry at Buddy's too! I also paid these off through Buddy's easy payment plans.
I have also purchased two bedroom sets through them, a DVD burner, a DVD player, a fathers ring, and not too mention all of my furniture. I have probably spent close to twenty thousand dollars over the years with Buddy's Home Furnishings. I knew I was paying more for anything that I purchased through them, but seeing how my credit wasn't very good, paying small payments for a longer period of time seemed to work out just fine for me. I was able to have nice things for my home, with out needing good credit or having a huge sum of cash.
The last thing I decided to purchase from Buddy's Home Furnishing's was a nice Zennith 57 inch big screen television, and an entertainment center to go with it. This was the biggest purchase that I had made yet. The purchase price was going to be right at $6,000.00, and it was going to take me three and a half years to completely pay it off, but I decided to do it. It really was a nice television. My kids loved playing their Xbox 360 on a big screen television, football games were awesome, and watching movies reminded you of being at the theater. Everyone was able to enjoy this purchase, and it completely changed the look of my livingroom.
Everything was going well with the TV, and the payments. I only owed $1,000.00 more, when the company that I worked for had to cut down on everyone's hours, in order to save money. This made me fall a little behind in my payments, and the manager was working with me on my payments. The problem really began when a new manager took over and my usual manager had been transfered to another store. This new guy, was a real nastey, little jerk. He was very unwilling to work with me on my payments, even though I had been a customer of theirs for fifteen years.
He actually sent two guys in a truck to pick up my TV, from my kids, while I was at work. I had already paid $5,000 on this TV and entertainment center and I was very upset. I called up there to speak with him, and the only thing that he would tell me is that I had 60 days to come up with the money, or forfit my TV. There was no way that I would be able to come up with it that fast, but he didn't seem to care. Needless to say I lost my TV, and they have lost a customer for life. This is not how a fifteen year long customer should have ever be treated. I hope they don't allow this guy to run all of their bussiness away before they realize it.
My hours are picking up now, and I am looking into finding a new rental company. If that doesn't look optional, then I will be saving for my replacement TV. If any of you guys out there are considering renting to own, I would advise you not to ever fall behind with Buddy's Home Furnishings, no matter how long you have been a loyal customer.
