The Denver Broncos drafted Tim Tebow in the first round of the 2010 NFL draft. Drafting Tebow that early was shocking enough but Denver also traded several draft picks to get him. I was shocked that Tim Tebow was drafted in the first round because I wrote this wondering if he would even play quarterback in the NFL. I also had Tim Tebow ranked 4th on the quarterbacks entering the 2010 NFL draft.
I have mixed feelings about Tim Tebow. He is hated for being religious and that is wrong. But I wonder how much of the Tim Tebow we know is just good public relations work?
ESPN has given us so much Tim Tebow that I quickly tired of him. Just like Brett Favre, the world wide leader has shoved Tebow down our throats. If Tebow had went to the Vikings and learned from Favre, then ESPN would have been unbearable.
Dez Bryant being drafted by the Dallas Cowboys was a shocking development of the 2010 NFL draft. Dez Bryant will wear number 88 for the Dallas Cowboys just like Michael Irvin and Drew Pearson. Pearson and Irvin are on my best Dallas Cowboy wide receivers ever list, but I wonder if Bryant will be. He seems like Michael Irvin off the field but does not have Irvin's work ethic.
Jimmy Clausen not being drafted in the first round of the 2010 NFL draft was a bit odd. The fact that the Carolina Panthers picked him in the 2nd round is distressing to me. The Panthers needed defensive linemen and wide receivers not a quarterback with an attitude problem.
I think the biggest 2010 NFL draft day shocker was the Jacksonville Jaguars selecting
Tyson Alualo the defensive tackle out of California. To read more about this pick check out Mike Spain's review. That is it for my random thoughts on the first round of the 2010 NFL draft.

Enjoyed the recap!
Nice recap on the first round. It definitely had its share of shockers. Yeah, I agree with you about Tebow and if he went to the Vikings. That isn't to say I have any problem with him personally. After all the trading up/down, you would have thought Jacksonville would have been the one moving out of their spot. That still isn't as shocking as to who the selected staying put at No. 10 though.
The first 2 rounds stressed me out because the Browns are really going to suck worse than they do without a QB.
With all the pre-draft hoopla over Tebow he'll prolly flop, but he seems like a genuine kid, so I hope he's successful. And why wasn't Ben "Every Woman Is Mine For The Taking" Rothlesberger still in the NFL? He needs a couple years in jail to teach him that money, physical size and bodyguards do not make him above the law.
Saw this on Twitter, thanks to Janet. Good review!
Great work Randy, but I have come to expect this of you! :-)
