My Review of Delta Airlines

I Hope You're Small!

Delta Air Lines flies to more places than any global airline (www.delta.com). Delta has flights to 481 places in 105 countries .

I fly Delta Airlines more often than any other. In the past 5 months I've flown twice, the second time just today. I fly Delta Express which has been fine for me.

I prefer large planes but it seems these days I only get them when I go across the country. Delta Express gives me a smaller plane with about 35 rows and one narrow aisle. Some planes have three seats on each side. Today I flew down to Florida in a plane that had three seats on one side and two on another. I was so glad that no one was in the middle of my 3-seat row. Truly three people cannot sit comfortably unless one is a child or very thin.

I checked in at the counter rather than curbside because at 6:00a.m. there was no line. The customer service person was very nice and friendly.

There is an important point to note regarding Delta from Logan Airport. Gates 13-22 are a million miles away. Well maybe not a million but when Logan was redone someone did an awful job in designing this area. You'll go down an escalator and maybe see a 6-person open van if you'd like to take it. I have oftentimes not seen this car and if needed you would have to track down someone to get it. However, wheelchairs are readily accessible. There is also as an option of a moving walkway. I dislike these so I walk to another escalator that takes me back up!

They say they have first class but it's really business class. I wouldn't spend the extra money. I've been in a nice first class cabin and there's no comparison. These seats are larger than coach but no any fancier than coaches. Having said that the seats in coach are small. I do think they may be the tightest of all the airlines on which I've been.

All the seats are the same except for exit seats, which have more legroom. One has to be able to lift 31 to 40 pounds to be able to sit there and children are not allowed the exit seats. You won't find a monitor on the back on the seat in front of you on Delta Express.

They've gotten a little better with their snacks. Rather than a pretzel mix only we now have choices of cookies, peanut butter crackers, peanuts and in April there were granola bars. Needless to say I bring my own food.

I have always found the crew professional and friendly though not as entertaining as those on Southwest. One flight attendant walked around giving out blankets. Our pilot today kept us informed about every 20 minutes about how much farther we had; what we might be seeing on the right or left side of the plane and the weather in Florida.

The plane was clean, as were the lavatories. It left exactly on time and arrived a little early. I have had good experiences in Delta being on-time. I will continue to make Delta my first choice though American Airlines is a close second.

Dang it, you beat me too the punch! This is on my list of things to review for my last vacation :) I will, of course, still probably review it. Good job!

Good review. My husband flies Delta all the time and for the most part they're pretty good. However his experience with delays and cancelled flights has been pretty different from yours. Maybe another article!lol
