My Review of Diary of a Wimpy Kid

Allie Bojko
My family and I all went out to the movie theatres to watch Diary of a Wimpy Kid within this past week with several of my aunts, uncles and cousins. We came out of the movie theatre feeling great having seen this movie because we all loved it, it was also interesting how every one of us adults could relate to the obstacles, peer pressure, and the broken friendships' that were portrayed throughout this movie. This movie is really for everyone no matter your age whether your young or old. I too, was thinking that this movie only applied to kids that it simply wasn't for me but boy was I wrong I'd bite my words if I could. Read on to find out more about Diary Of A Wimpy Kid and my opinion on this movie.

All of the character's in the movie were well behind picked it was a little to perfect, every one of the character's in the movie somehow meshed so well with their physical descriptions that the movie succeeded. Greg Heffley the movie's main character and protagonist (brilliantly played by the actor Zachary Gordon) did an unbelievable job acting in this movie that his role contributed to the majority of the movie's success. I was completely "shell shocked" by Zachary Gordon's performance in this movie that I have never felt with any other child star before, his acting was so believable that it seemed like it was happening for real that was my initial impression of him. His acting was very brilliant that he brought to life this difficult kid and going through the transformation of the Greg Heffley in his stick figure books to his actual self in reality. I did enjoy watching Greg at times where he struggled to fit in, make new friends, fighting with his rebellious brother, and seeing all of the unbelievable facial expressions he's able to exert.

In Diary Of A Wimpy Kid Greg Heffley did indeed lead us on one big emotional roller coaster ride from the very beginning of the movie all the way through the end of it: at first we loved him, than we felt his pain, than all of a sudden we go back to accepting him as an individual and that they do make mistakes so we end up loving him again and again for good this time. For instance, his problems with his best friend Rowley and their rocky relationship throughout the movie the good and the bad (this also applies in reality) was certainly worth watching especially for my cousins to experience just by watching this movie.

I certainly enjoyed the fact that this movie was far from being predictable because many things happen throughout the movie it's really impossible to see coming. It was certainly a great movie and it doesn't just apply to children but adults as well it might even bring back some of those high school memories whether they'd be great or bad. It's a very fun, clever, and a relatable story that can truly touch you emotionally and entertain you at the exact same time, it's worth watching, it wouldn't, shouldn't and couldn't disappoint you even if it tried. I give it a big two thumbs up, so get off the couch, go to the nearest movie theatre and watch it before it's too late! I'd also like to appreciate the individuals that have taken the time to read my review it certainly means a lot to me.

If you think you had it hard as a kid you simply don't know what hard is unless your Greg Heffley that's for sure?
