My Review of MAC Blot Powder in Light

S
I spent $17 for MAC Blot Powder in Light the other day. I ran out of makeup powder, and decided to purchase the MAC Blot Powder in Light to try a different makeup powder. I ended up not being ultimately really impressed by the MAC Blot Powder in Light, as I'll explain in this article.

First, the MAC Blot Powder in Light was a lot of money. I spend quite a bit of money on cosmetics, and the MAC Blot Powder in Light definitely contributed to the money I spend on cosmetics a great deal.

The MAC Blot Powder in Light did work well for my skin tone - it seemed to match it very well. I didn't care for the powder puff (applicator) in the MAC Blot Powder in Light, so I used my own powder puff to apply the MAC Blot Powder in Light. The MAC Blot Powder in Light seemed to make my makeup look less cakey at first and also seemed to absorb some of the oil in my skin. When I first applied the MAC Blot Powder in Light, I was quite happy with it.

The thing that I've noticed about the MAC Blot Powder in Light is that the oiliness in my skin comes back mid-day when I'm wearing the MAC Blot Powder in Light. I've tried to refresh the makeup on my face with the MAC Blot Powder in Light during mid-day, but it doesn't ultimately make it look that refreshed (if you know what I mean.) I must admit that my skin can be quite oily at times, and I need a nice makeup powder that will control the oiliness of my skin. The MAC Blot Powder in Light ultimately didn't do a top-notch job of controlling the oil in my skin throughout the day.

When I purchase a cosmetics product, I expect it to last through the whole day - not just through half or three quarters of the day. The MAC Blot Powder in Light definitely should last through the whole day when I apply it in the morning, but as I've stated, it does not. For spending so much money for the MAC Blot Powder in Light, I'm not impressed.

I will not be buying the MAC Blot Powder in Light once again, because I don't think that the MAC Blot Powder in Light is a wonderful product. The MAC Blot Powder in Light isn't spectacular in any way, and I don't feel like spending more money on a product like the MAC Blot Powder in Light.

I don't think you understand what the product is meant to be used for. You can't expect that a powder will last for the entire day if you have oily skin. The idea of the blot powder is that you can continually touch up without adding any extra pigment to your skin, which is often what causes the 'chalky' look. Using this product with a brush rather than a puff will also dramatically reduce any chalkiness as the application will be lighter.

I'm not a MAC nerd by any stretch (in fact I use very few of their products, even in my kit), but I am a qualified makeup artist so I do know what I am talking about. I would hope that a makeup reviewer would be a little more thorough on her product testing and application methods.
