Honestly in my opinion this movie dragged on and on with a runtime of 123 min. I thought the movie would keep me interested but I lost interest after the first half hour of non consummation. A friend who I went with to see this movie also found a great disappointment of it. We laughed it off how my boyfriend as quite as he is probably would have stood up and clapped when the prince finally gave it to her. This is definitely not a movie for a guy to go and see, they should stick with The Departed.
I would suggest for anyone maybe thinking about going to see this movie to go check out another instead, The Grudge 2 was pretty good and I heard The Departed was also a good movie. This movie Marie Antoinette is a disappointment and a total waste of the 7 dollars I spent and a waste of my 123 minutes. Kirsten Dunst could have done a lot better in a movie choice. And while I'm at it placing very modern music in the background to a movie that's suppose to take place in the 18th century doesn't make a lot of sense to me. At least they could have given us a beheading scene it would have made sitting through all that worthwhile.

Post a CommentI absolutely loved this movie. Modern Music was used because it sybollises Marie Antoinettes anarchy ways and rebellion. There were some great camera production/angles used, and nobody but Kirsten Dunst could of pulled it off. It dragged on a little in some parts, but after finally seeing it (and I wanted to for a while) I was satisfied. It wasnt THAT bad surely.
Yep, this movie was a wortheless "slice of life" movie. Sofia Coppola managed to make a very interesting subject, quite dull. I got what she was going for, but I just kept waiting and waiting for the movie to start. It was a waste of time for sure, and it's a shame because the subject matter and idea of approach was great.
It was a horrible movie. And the ending... Oh don't get me started.
I am sorry but The Departed was terrible and after reading your review of Marie Antoinette, think I will just read the book.
Thank you for a good job done on a bad movie !
sharing the light,
I would like to see it..maybe...
I loved the scenery and costumes and I like Kirsten Dunst. It showed a side of the famous Marie Antoinette that I certainly didn't know about before....
I have this one in my Blockbuster queue, I heard there is fabulous shoes in this one!
omg i didnt know they had converse back then! if you look closely at the shoe shot where shes trying the shoes on you can see converse in the back lol loved the movie!
Boring? I just don't understand the negative reviews of this movie. I thought it was excellent. Your comment though::"So basically through over half of this movie you're wondering when he is going to "give it to her":: might indicate your degree of expectation.
Well, I'll be the one person who has seen it and actually liked it. ;) But yeah, most don't like it.
