My Sanity

Will Come Back

oonah merriwether
my sanity will come back to me,
someday
'til then i'll be crazy;
believing in every fantasy
that way
tho thoughts may be hazy,

a magick of sorts surrounding me,
seeming
as mad as a hatter
i've nothing at all confounding me.
dreaming
like nothing else matters,

perceiving my world an idyll, not
jejune
but phantasmagoric;
each moment surreal, unbridled, sought
a boon
is and most historic!

being out of my mind, delerious
senile
perhaps, but still sentient
will liberate me from the serious
awhile
defend my contentment.

and when sanity comes back again
to me
once i 'm wisened and wrinkled
since i've not forgotten to pretend
there'll be
in my eyes...a twinkle!
