My Savior, My Father, My Friend

Nancie Norton
What a wonderful Savior
This Father of mine
He saves me from myself
Time after time after time

Almost constantly
Each and every day
Satan just keeps on trying
To steal my soul away

He puts so very many,
Stumbling blocks in my path
And when he trips me up
He just sits there and laughs

He thinks if he can get me
To focus on myself,
That in dealing with frustration
I'll leave my Bible on the shelf

You see, satan knows if I read my Bible,
That it makes me so much stronger
'Cause it keeps me in touch with GOD
Then he can't control me any longer.

You see staying close to GOD,
Is the way to sin prevention
So,putting Christ first in my life
Makes him, the center of my attention.

Yes,Jesus is more than a casual acquaintance
He's my Savior,my Father, my Friend
I know He'll be there,with outstretched arms
If satan's tricks, cause me to sin again

So if at times satan tries to make you,
Your own worst enemy too
Just say, "Jesus I need your help"
And He will come to your rescue.
