My Search for a Small Space Sectional Sofa Ends with Home Reserve

Functional, Pet-Friendly Furniture for Small Spaces

Mavyn McDaniels
Those of you who have read my article about using Amtrak for cheap cross-country moves know that I was not able to bring any of my apartment furniture with me during my last relocation. Now that we have finally settled into an apartment that we hope to be in long term, I have started the search for attractive, functional furniture for small spaces. Once we found a great bed, nightstands and bookshelves, our main focus turned to finding a sofa or sectional that would meet our needs. Because I am furnishing and decorating a small space, I have a particular interest in furniture that offers storage. And, because we have two cats - one of which still thinks scratching is a rather exciting pastime - my other main concern is finding an affordable living room seating option that either can withstand a bit of cat scratching or will not cost a fortune to reupholster once he has had his way with it. Aside from these primary concerns, I naturally also want apartment furniture that is attractive and comfortable, as well as easy to move when we eventually relocate again. Finally, I also need to find a couch that will fit through our narrow front gate.

After doing a few online searches for furniture companies specializing in sofas and sectionals for small spaces, I believe I have found the answer: Home Reserve. Based on everything I have read on their website and the Home Reserve furniture reviews I have found online, it appears that they have thought of everything when it comes to pet-friendly, budget-friendly small space furniture.

Home Reserve Furniture for Small Spaces

Home Reserve specializes in providing functional small space furniture and has brilliantly designed every piece they offer to include built-in storage space. From the smallest ottoman to the largest sofa, each piece has a hidden storage compartment that is easy to access and offers that much-coveted additional storage that we apartment dwellers always seem to need. Additionally, my narrow front gate will not be an issue if I opt for a Home Reserve storage sectional, since each piece of their apartment furniture arrives in boxes that are easy to maneuver through narrow doorways, basement staircases or, as in my case, pesky front gates.

Yep, you read that right - chairs, sofas, ottomans and sectionals all show up in boxes and are ready to assemble upon arrival. I would not consider myself necessarily handy around the house when it comes to assembling furniture, but after viewing the photos and watching the videos on the Home Reserve site, it looks like even I would have no problem at all assembling the Laney sectional in layout #2 that I am currently drooling over.

Home Reserve Pet-Friendly Furniture

In addition to loving the idea of ready-to-assemble apartment furniture with storage, I am also rather intrigued by the renewability of Home Reserve furniture. While it is very exciting that you can purchase a completely different set of fabric to change your furniture's look at any time, I am particularly interested in the concept of being able to purchase just one cushion or one section of fabric, allowing the couch or sectional to make an affordable, full recovery after tears, spills, pet accidents or the cat scratching that will surely be taking place in my home. And, because Home Reserve really has thought of everything, they even offer washable fabrics that can be taken off and laundered in your regular washer and dryer.

I have spent a significant amount of time devouring the Home Reserve website and reading Home Reserve reviews online. After comparing their offerings to other online options, as well as visiting more furniture stores than I can count, I think I have found the small space sectional that is right for us. The combination of style and function offered by Home Reserve is a perfect match for what we are looking for in apartment furniture.

If you are looking for pet-friendly, kid-friendly furniture for a small space, or that simply needs to fit through a small space to reach its final home, saunter on over to the Home Reserve website to learn about this unique, intriguing concept in furniture design.

Great product, painful website. I'm a UI designer and even I couldn't figure out how to navigate it. Anyone who makes you click 4x to get a products dimensions and 5x to purchase it, has lost many customers. It wasn't worth the carpel tunnel. I gave up.

Great piece! I had never heard of Home Reserve before either, although it reminds me a bit of Ikea. Hope you are more handy than I am... it took me and my sister three hours to assemble a small grill :)

I love decorating the small spaces in our home, probably because it seems so manageable. I'm excited to learn about Home Reserve.
