I wasn't super excited last week when the judges decided to save Big Mike. Now I like the guy and all, but he's not the best by far. After watching this past week I'm glad they decided to keep him. I think he did a great job singing "In The Ghetto" by Elvis. I was glad I got to hear him sing that song because I had never heard it before and I really enjoyed listening to it. I was glad to see Andrew and Katie leave this past week. I liked them both a lot, but obviously two people had to go and I felt they were the weakest two in the competition at this point. Andrew probably should have gone home sooner but he was a likable guy and sometimes I think that trumps how well you may or may not have performed.
Now we are down to Tim, Casey, Crystal, Big Mike, Lee, Aaron and Siobhan. Tim is a very likable guy. He's always smiling, but for some reason he annoys me just a tad. His smile is infectious and he seems nice enough, but he acts so surprised when he is given a compliment from Simon. And maybe he is, but it's a little over the top. He's very cheesy as well. Casey is hot. He's very nice to look at and he can sing. I can see him being one of the final four. He's been fairly consistent in the competition thus far. Crystal is my favorite. She's a wonderful person and man can she ever sing! She's not had a bad week yet. Every week when I tune into Idol I know without a doubt that she's going to do well. In my opinion she should win the competition and if she doesn't she'll finish as runner up. I have almost no doubts about that. Big Mike I like, but I don't really have a lot to say about him. I think he has one maybe two weeks left on the show. He's pretty good, but he doesn't ever wow me. I don't ever watch the show and think to myself "I really hope Big Mike is here next week." Lee is my second favorite and I think he'll be in the final two as well. He and Crystal are the best two on the show and deserve to be in the finale. Most of the time when I hear him sing it's as if I'm listening to him on the radio. He's that good. He shows almost no emotion and smiles very little, but he's still one of my favorites. Aaron is a hard one for me. He's young and sweet and really wants to be there, but I'm afraid he has a week or two left. He can sing and he's such a cutie, but he really just doesn't measure up. I hate saying that because I really like him, but he's not even close to being the best. Now Siobhan is another one I really like, but I just can't figure her out. Some weeks I really like her and others I'm not real impressed. I think if she were more consistent I might have put her in the final two, but I think she'll probably be in the final three. She'll for sure make it to the final four. Obviously these are only my predictions, but I'm anxious to see how they play out!
I've really enjoyed having Ellen on the show. She's really added something to it. It sometimes seems as if she isn't sure what she should be saying, but she's funny and I like that. She is much better than Paula. Ellen at least makes sense 99% of the time when Paula almost never did. I was afraid losing her might hurt the show, but I don't think it has. Stay tuned as we wait to see who goes home this coming week on Idol!
