My Secret Ways of Keyword Research

Keyword research is the fundamental procedure in seo. Normally webmaster categorized keyword research under the first phase of seo. Keyword research is essential for all html publishers and bloggers. There are many different methods to do keyword research and every webmaster has their own preferences. But no matter what keyword research method you adopt, the final conclusion is to find out what are in-demand and the competition of any niche.

My keyword research can be generalized as follow:

1. Find out what is in-demand or hot trend on the net

Website based on keywords that are popular on search engine can secure your website to receive more search engine traffic daily. There are few things you can look up for popular trend like Google Trends, Yahoo Buzz and MSN a-list.

If you are searching hot trend for your blog, I would recommend Technorati. It's one of the largest blog ranking search engine out there. Technorati provide top searches on Technorati Popular. There have list of top 100 blogs and top searches. Hot trend research allow you to see what people are searching for on the web, guess what else they might search for, and then optimize for those keywords.

2. Find the keywords related to your hot trend

Once you have decided the hot trend to optimize, you may continue to build the keywords around it. There are tones of keyword suggestion tool that are available for free. I personally prefer Wordtracker Free Keywords. Wordtracker allow user to enter starting keyword to generate up to 100 related keywords and an estimate of their daily search volume. It also provides option for adult filter and user may easily run another search by clicking on any suggested keywords.

Another recommended tool is Google Adwords Keyword Suggestion Tool. This tool is great for optimized your adsense earning-per-click. You may build your adsense site based on high paying keywords and optimized your adsense earning.

3. Find out how much competition your keywords will face

Once you've summarized your keywords, it's time to check out your competition. Normally I will use Google Search. Let's try "video conferencing" on Google search, there are over 9 million search results. This is the number of results that appear when you search for the exact search term. You may also try using Yahoo Search or Live Search Engine to check out your competition.

I will only take interest on keywords with less than 100,000 competitions. If you're not familiar with seo or total newbie, try only keywords with less than 30,000 competitions.
