My Sexy Halloween Striptease

A Side of Me that You Have Never Seen

Michael Segers
This year, I've written several Halloween articles, specifically on how to find all kinds of free Halloween treats online. Although I never have liked Halloween, I have gotten into the Halloween spirit this year, and so I'm going to try something new with my first online striptease. First, let's go back and recount my Halloween articles so far.

Classical Music for Halloween: Fifty Pieces

For some people, unfortunately, any classical music may sound scary, but for some of us, classical music for Halloween may be just the treat we need to go along with all the tricks. Last year, I wrote an article about fifty pieces of classical music for Halloween (here) for which I compiled my list of classical music selections from other people's lists and added links to the biographies of the composers. This year, I updated that list with links to the music itself (here).

100 Halloween Movies for Free: 100 Horror Movies to Watch for Free

Check out my list of 100 (actually 101) horror movies that you can watch for free (here). By the way, I don't always go slumming like this when I watch movies. You can find a list of my film reviews (here).

War of the Worlds: Free Old Time Radio for Halloween

Although television effectively killed off the golden age of old time radio, the Internet has, strangely, brought it back to life. In MP3, the compressed audio format of much Internet audio, old time radio programs are streamed and downloaded quickly. From this article, you can find and download the infamous War of the Worlds broadcast of 1938 and many other old time radio programs (here).

Free Books for Halloween

For your reading pleasure (besides the article itself) I provide a list of two dozen writers and with links to their free spooky books online as well as to their biographies. Since we are looking for free books, by the way, we are limited to older works, out of copyright, so, no Stephen King, no Anne Rice, but you can find some great writers that you probably have heard of, as well as some that you may not be familiar with (here).

Free Audiobooks for Halloween

One of the great advances in reading is the audiobook. We can read with our ears while driving, while sitting on an airplane or bus, or just while leaning back, relaxing, with eyes closed. The only thing better than a good audiobook is a good free audiobook. You can learn not only how to find free audio books but also how you can help create free audiobooks (here).

Harry Houdini's Murder and Last Halloween Séance Appearance

The famous magician Harry Houdini actually died on Halloween. Was Houdini murdered? Did he come back ten years after his death? Read the article to find out... also to find a free audio documentary about his final (as far as we know) appearance (here).

Watch for Free the Movies of Harry Houdini

As a follow-up to the previous article, I also wrote an article about a little-known aspect of Harry Houdini's life, his acting, writing, and directing movies. If you check some of the free online videos (here), I suspect you may figure out why that part of his career is not well-known, but, they give us a fascinating glimpse of Houdini at work.

Tricks and Treats on the Calendar

These are a couple of articles I wrote to explore oddities about the calendar, including the way we assign dates to such holidays as Halloween. I also answer some questions such as , "Why was 2000 a leap year, but 2100 will not be?" and "With what word do we literally say good-by to meat?" You can find the first article here and its sequel here.

My Sexy Halloween Striptease - at last

I begin, discreetly, by removing my mask. No, I'm not a snappy young Internet journalist. Behind that mask, you see the worn visage of an old teacher, an old teacher has had an agenda in these Halloween articles. Of course, I hope you have had a lot of fun and found some free books, audiobooks, movies, and music to enjoy.

But, more importantly, I hope you have learned how many amazing free (and legal) resources are available online. Especially if you are a teacher in a school or homeschool, that information could be the best treat I can provide you.

Now, about that sexy Halloween striptease... trust me on this. If I take off much more, you'll think I've sneaked in a new horror movie, with a monster so awful that, regardless of your sex or orientation, you'll lose all interest. My final Halloween treat for you - sorry about the Halloween striptease trick - is to assure that after the last kid has rung your doorbell, you and your main squeeze will be ready to share some special tricks and treats that I had better not write about for a family-friendly website.

Sexy News Update

Jennifer Wagner (source page
here) recently published an article "AC's Sexiest Men of 2009" (here), and all I can say is, one of her choices was... aw, gee, Miz Jenny, I'm sure the other guys would join me in saying that you bring out the best in us.

I'm old enough to know better, but too young to admit it. I've been a teacher, owner of a sandwich shop, collector of neckties, acupuncture student. Now I get bossed around by my parrot and rejoice that I d...  View profile

Great striptease. This is very helpful, and I may use it tonight. I've never listened to 'War of the Worlds'. Of course, Ghost to Ghost AM is on tonight (or morning, depending on where you live).

What a riot, very creative angle. Of course I had to check this out even though Halloween is over. Excellent resource.

I would love to have had you as a teacher, Michael. These resources are great and people can save them and go back to them year after year. Thanks.

    well done. great stuff!

Thomas - If you follow the link that I give in the article (to http://www.peanut.org/mike/text/Tricksan2.htm), you'll find the answer. 2100 will not be a leap year, although it is divisible by 4. 1900 was not a leap year either, by the way.

  • Thomas Lane11/5/2009

I think I was just as surprised to be in Jenny's article as you were. But why is 2100 not a leap year? It is divisable by 4 (as all leap years are), while 2102 and 2098 are not.
