My Sister, My Everything

My sister was not yet a teen when I arrived.
My sister was the sister you hope for.
When I was sick, she was by my side.
When I had no one to play with, she was there.

My sister soon started to date her true love.
My sister still made time to be involved.
When they went out, she would hear me call.
When she came home, she would tuck me in.

My sister got her own place not far from home.
My sister rented a room while she attended school.
When I would come over we had cookies.
When we woke we would go to the park.

My sister got married to her true love.
My sister had a baby and made me an Aunt.
When she came home she took me in.
When we went home she gave me what she could.

My sister never gave up on me.
My sister raised me with little complaints.
When I would act out, I know now it hurt her.
When I grew up, she still held her hand out.

My sister still is there and worries.
My sister's chest must feel like exploding!
When someone is in need she tries to help.
When I have a problem or just need to cry -

My sister is always there and is everything to me!
