Other than that, I would say the shark and my love for the Bride are the things this movie has got. It started promising, with G-Girl Uma fighting crime. But when the POV became Matt's, it went downhill. The plot's all screwed up: a guy bets on his friend to end his forced celibacy and romp with a nerdy, uptight, librarian-looking girl just to break the draught. At work he's got a dumb blonde colleague (who's got an even dumber Latino model boyfriend) he really loves, but settles for the girl he could get easy instead. They had incredible sex (she broke his bed, I mean, she's a superhero after all), she sees him and dumb blonde, she gets jealous and suspicious that he wants dumb blonde but can't screw dumb blonde because of dumb male model; he realizes that he doesn't love her, proving her suspicions correct; he breaks up with her, she gets mad; he hooks up with dumb blonde, she finds out, throws the shark at them; he teams up with villain (who's got a crush on G-Girl ever since) and rock to take away G-Girl's powers...... I am so sorry, but just trying to write the whole plot here is killing me. The plot's so bad and boring it's literally sucking the life force out of me. The plot is next to Ultraviolet, okay? I hope that sums it up.
Does this sound right? NO. It's all wrong. The plot should center on superhero Jenny and attempting-to-be-a-loser Matt. But Jenny/G-Girl came to be just a nuisance that Matt has to get rid of. I mean, really, the shark was fantastic (and I want to have superpowers just so I can harass and throw sharks and other wild creatures at men), but the editing and the transition of sequences were too choppy. It's obvious that all the necessary information were fed in the script just to get the story across. The sequences do not even lead to one another, the character emotions were not dished out, and the punchlines were not working. And who are the other actors anyway? That dumb blonde even got to play superhero versus Uma? Why? It seemed like Luke Wilson and that actress (which I have since grown to hate) are the leads. Who is interested in them? The conflict (re: angry superhero getting revenge on bad boyfriend) does not even stem from them. Ugh.
Failure of a movie, although the effects were quite good. Not worth a second viewing, except maybe for where G-Girl threw a shark at Luke.
