My Sweet Little Rose

Nora
This is a story I would like to tell you about a little girl. Cute, innocent, loving, caring - just like any five year old would be. Let us call her Rose - because she was as pretty and attractive as a rose. She would always be with a smile on her face. She was the pet in the family and the favourite of all her teachers in school.

It was on a Sunday morning. All the family members had to go out. For some reason they could not take her with them. The house was a big one and there was a very faithful Dog named Dicky to look after the house. Dicky would never let a stranger into the compound. And there was another cottage in the same compound. They would keep an eye on Rose if she needed any help. So they all left her alone and went away.

Dicky would not let anyone into the house. But the man who entered the compound was a family friend. Everyone knew him. Dicky did not stop him from coming to the house. Rose also let him come in because he was Papa's friend. Papa had said not to let strangers in - but this was a friend. The friend Charlie played with Rose for a long time. He went out and bought her a lot of chocolates. Rose was very happy playing with Uncle Charlie. He then told her that since she was tired she should lie on the bed. So Rose very innocently lay on the bed and continued eating the chocolates. Then Charlie very playfully tied her hands and legs. And continued feeding her the chocolates. Rose was enjoying playing and being fed.

Then Charlie did the unthinkable. He trampled the rose. He crushed the rose. The rose that was fit to be put in a bouquet was now just trampled and lying on the floor. Her innocence was violenty shattered. She could not be the same rose again.

I was sad to see this wilted rose trampled before its time

Everytime I saw her it broke this heart of mine

This sweet rose then left me one day

And before she left I heard her say

I will meet you in God's heavenly home one day.

As I walked in the garden today

A beautiful red rose had something to say

I stood there to listen to what the rose had to say

"I told you I will be back one day"

Innocence is priceless. Very tragic for it to be taken away before one is really ready to grow up.

Wow! What tragedy and you expressed it so well. How anyone can inflict pain upon another human, or being for that matter, is completely selfish. xoxoxo,

Excellent! It conveys more than what you have expressed. Great work!
