My System is Infected with Windows Police Pro - What Can I Do?

Lance Esondi
Many people today know that there is software that is created for the purpose of ruining their machines. These are known as viruses, spyware, adware, and others. There is a recent type of software that has been created that is a bit more malicious than anything else before. One of these is known as Windows Police Pro.

The problem with this type of software is that it's malicious on a whole new level. The average user will see something like Windows Police Pro and think it's something that is designed by Microsoft to secure the system and take care of threats. Many are unaware when installing these types of applications that they are actually malicious and designed to take your system hostage.

What this software does is make fake virus reports. You will see that your system is infected with a number of threats and will be asked to purchase the full software to take care of the problem. The reality is that there is no problem and it's a scam that is trying to get your money. Unfortunately many fall for this scheme again and again not with just this software but others.

If you have this on your system a program call MalwareBytes is designed to get it off your system. This should take care of the problem for you. An alternative is using a restore point on your machine and rolling back to before you installed it.

Before you ever install a security tool, be sure that it's a real tool. You can't trust a name alone as most of these now are these malicious pieces of software trying to scam you. Go to a search engine and try to find real user reviews to let you know if it's legitimate or something that is there to take advantage of you.
