She yells.
She screams.
She screams.
She's nice.
She's mean.
She's sweet.
She's sour.
My heart is hers to devour.
I'm tired.
I'm mad.
I never seem to feel glad.
About anything.. anymore.
I know this is just a phase
that won't last many more days
and before I know it she will enter adulthood.
So maybe until then I should take the good that I can
and hold my beautiful daughter just a little bit tighter.

Beautiful and funny, and touched me to my core as my children are grown, thank you for this lovely poem, it made my day...:0)
As George Harrison once said, "All things must pass." All of my kids are adults now. I'm so happy not to have to go through that phase anymore. It will pass. Just keep loving her and your relationship will be stronger because of it.
Oh, those teenage moods.....yes, they will pass before you know it. Great poem.
Well done - I know the feeling I have 3 daughters - the youngest is in college.
Good job Alex..very nice poem
very nice :)
My daughters are now my two best friends. I hear you...it can be rough! They must break away from you before they can be your friend.
Sounds like a plan:)
Ouch, I remember the teenage-daughter-pain! They do grow up nicely - you just have to survive the teen years! cheers :)
