1. "Revolution" was written in 1968. This song is important to me, because I am an activist who wants to change the world, and I don't want anything to do with hate and violence. Also, this is one of those songs that I like to rock out to, because it has a great beat.
2. "Imagine" was written in 1971. It's not exactly a Beatles song, but it was written by one of the Beatles, John Lennon, so I think it counts. This song is one of my favorites, because I am all about peace. This song addresses what it would be like if all lines and boundaries were broken down, that keep us from achieving such peace. It's a truly moving song.
3. "All You Need Is Love" was written in 1969. It's such a simple song with simple lyrics, but it is an anthem that simply states, "All you need is love." Call me crazy, but that's all I want. This song reminds me that there are people that think the same way, and that want to spread the same message.
4. "Michelle" was written in 1965. There is a simple reason as to why I like this song. My name is Michelle. It's also fun to sing along with, and say the only French I ever bothered to learn. I also think it's a very pretty song.
5. "Yellow Submarine" was first written in 1966 and appeared on the album, Revolver, but later appeared on the album, Yellow Submarine, a soundtrack to the film. I absolutely adore this song, because it's so silly, and every time I hear it, I am reminded of the movie, which I get a kick out of.
6. "Birthday" was apparently written in 1968, as I just learned. I know it sounds silly, because it's a silly little birthday song. However, I think it's more upbeat and fun to sing. Whenever it's someone's birthday, I post the Youtube video of Paul McCartney singing this live in concert somewhere.
7. "The Word" was written in 1965. The word that is being referred to in this song is "love," of course. After seeing my above choices and explanations of why I picked them, it's easy to see why I picked another song about love, as one of my favorite songs. It seems to be a common theme.
8., 9., and 10. "Strawberry Fields," "Here Comes the Sun" and "Hey Jude" were written in 1967, 1969, and 1970, respectively. I clump these three songs all together, because honestly, I have no explanation as to why they are my favorites. Maybe it's the tunes... I don't know. I just know I've always liked these songs.
The Beatles wrote a great many great songs, and some of my favorites may be head scratchers to some of you, but that's okay. I have an eclectic music taste to begin with, so it's no wonder I picked a grab bag of Beatles songs.

Post a CommentHow about the song 'Yesterday'?
Great picks, Michelle! I think the Beatles will always be one of my top favorites!
great song choices here!
Nice. I like so many of your choices and my favorite Beatles song does tend to change, depending on my mood, time of day, etc.
I am partial to "Michelle" that is my name, thanks for a fun read
That's a good one. =)
Nice! Mine is "while my guitar gently weeps"
Thanks for the comment, "Cool." Before anyone else comments on my inaccuracies, I will admit that I was going by the year the songs were on the albums the year they were released. My mistake. Other than comments about those, I welcome more comments!
"Hey Jude" was written in 1968 or before -- not 1970. It was recorded July 29 through Aug. 1 in 1968. The last Beatles song was "I Me Mine," done in early May 1970, shortly before Paul announced the break-up. Also, "The Word" is referring to love in a sense. It's more accurately about orgies (or "free" love), which are sort of like love.
